The 412-Layer 6 shell jacket is constructed with Schoeller® fabric using c_change® technology. Inspired by nature, Schoeller® Switzerland observed the way a pine cone reacts to changes in temperature; opening when temperatures rise and closing when temperatures drop, to create the fabric structure of c_change® fabric. The opening of the fabric structure when the wearers body temperature increases, allows excess heat and moisture to escape to the outside air, offering high breathability whilst carrying away moisture and excessive heat. In the cold, or at times of low activity the c_change® fabric membrane remains closed, keeping the heat close to the body, this means shivering or chilling is effectively prevented. C_change® has been tested under extreme conditions, this wind and waterproof fabric ensures the optimum body climate, protecting the wearer in all kinds of weather.
To ensure the wearer stays dry in a flash, the 412 shell jacket has been finished with 3XDRY®, a textile finishing technology that combines two functions into one textile. The outside of the textile is water and dirt repellent, on the inside, perspiration is quickly absorbed and transported away from the body, leaving perspiration marks practically invisible from the outside. 3XDRY® ensures moisture is distributed over the textiles surface and evaporates rapidly as a result 3XDRY® dries much faster in comparison to conventional textiles. Additionally moisture evaporates close to skin to assist the natural cooling process of the body.
To further protect the wearer, the 412-Layer 6 shell jacket is finished with coldblack®. In comparison to light colors, dark colors absorb more heat in direct sunlight. The heat absorption can be reduced to a minimum with coldblack®, the UVA- and UVB-protection textile finish from Schoeller Technologies. coldblack® reduces heat build-up and provides reliable protection from the sun’s rays and noticeably improving the wearer's comfort level. YKK reverse-coil zips with spring-loaded, PU moulded zip pullers.
All 7L fabric are bluesign® approved, designating textiles produced in compliance with especially high environmental standards.
