The Z-Outer is a Layer 2 Midlayer and manufactured from light-weight recycled nylon ripstop. Two flap pockets are constructed on the front as well as two pockets on the side. The centre front zipper is a large two-way YKK VSMR + DSYG slider with the front chest zippers and side pocket zippers being YKK Vislon + DSYG slider. It is wind and water repellent.
